Bio

Rick is a co-founder at Equal Reality, and a Social Entrepreneur honoree of Forbes 30 Under 30 list. His expertise and passion lay at the intersection of learning, co-design, and entrepreneurship with immersive technology. Equal Reality creates empathy-focused simulations in VR-blended learning programs, which allow you to "walk a mile in someone else's shoes". Their learning technology has been recognised internationally winning Learning Technology of the Year by the Institute of Learning Professionals, Invention Of The Year by Technic.ly DC and industry body JFF Labs selected Equal Reality as one of the top 11 Innovators of the entire VR Learning global market (from over 300 companies).

Rick is also an Optus Future-Maker, a Halcyon social impact fellow, a winning team member of the UN’s UNLEASH Innovation Lab, and an alumnus of Massachusett Institute of Technology’s Global Entrepreneurship Program. Before working in at Equal Reality, Rick had previously been in the tech industry having worked in client management roles for software tech companies Bloomberg, and IBM. He completed his Bachelors in Law and another in Commerce majoring in Finance at the University of Wollongong, completing a paralegal internship in Malaysia. During his studies, he also exchanged at the University of California, San Diego and interned at a Wall Street brokerage firm focused on the tech and biotech industries.
